World Cup 2010 Highlights/Summary —-?
Group A: Great opening match between Mexico and SA which ended 1-1. Uruguay and France tied 1-1 the same day. France was defeated by South Africa and Mexico later in that world cup while Uruguay defeated Mexico and SA thus advancing Mexico and Uruguay as 1st to the 2nd round.
Group B: Argentina started strong by defeating Nigeria 1-0 in the first match while Korea beat Greece 2-0. With Ease Argentina later beat Greece and South Korea to advance with a perfect 3-0-0
While Korea tied Nigeria to advance as 2nd.
Group C: USA vs England was the highlight of this group but was a borefest but who could forget the Robert Green mistake that made the match 1-1?. USA dramatically beat Algeria and tied Slovenia to finish 1st in group. England tied Algeria and beat Slovenia and finished 2nd due to goal difference.
Group D: Germany opened great by bashing Australia 4-0 with controversial refereeing by Chiki Dracula. Ghana beat Serbia with a penalty. Germany Advanced along Ghana
Group E: Boring group with a few exiting matches. Netherlands finished with a 3-0-0. Cameroon surprisingly summed 0 points in this world cup. Japan stunned the group when they finished 2nd after they defeated Cameroon and Denmark
Group F: Italy was eliminated from the world cup in the knock off stages by Slovakia in their 3rd match after draws against weak New Zealand and surprising Paraguay. Parguay finished 1st and Slovakia 2nd
Group G: This was considered the group of death along with group A. Brazil won 2 and tied 1 against Portugal. Portugal murdered Korea 7-0 and finished 2nd due to goal difference . Ivory fiinished 3rd. Korea went home with no points.
Group H: Switzerland surprised the world by defeating Spain 1-0. however that didn’t stop la Furia Roja from advancing as 1st place to the round of 16 along with Chile. Honduras went home with 1 point
Round of 16: Uruguay vs S.Korea- Uruguay came on top 2-1 with a Luis Suarez double
Round of 16: U.S.A vs Ghana- Ghana won in extra time with a Gyan goal 2-1 3rd African team to reach the Quarter Finals
Round of 16: Netherlands vs Slovakia: undefeated Netherlands struggled to beat Slovakia 2-1
Round of 16: Brazil dominated chile 3-0.
Round of 16: Argentina (fhags) beat Mexico with controversial refereeing when the 1st goal appeared to be offsides Osorio made a mistake by passing the ball straight to Higuain which didn’t hesitate to score. Hernandez scored. 3-1. Blatter later apologized to the team for the refereeing.
Round of 16. Germany gave England their worse defeat in world cup finals history 4-1
Round of 16: Spain beat their neighbors 1-0. The ref wouldn’t call any CR fouls
Quarter Finals: Netherlands beat Brazil after a Felipe Melo own goal (also got sent off)and a Sneijder header after dirk Kuyt assisted him. 2-1
Quarter Finals: Uruguay vs Ghana: some say this was the best WC match. Uruguay and Ghana tied 1-1 in the first 90 minutes. 2nd extra time was ending and Ghana had a free kick. Free kick was taken and a series of bounces came about but a Ghana player headed the ball in (So it seemed) when Luis Suarez made “La Mano Del Diablo” by knocking the ball out of the net deliberately with his hand. Penalty: Asamoah Gyan had the chance to win but Missed the PK by hitting the Crossbar.
Uruguay capitalized and won 4-2 on the PK shootout.
Quarter Finals: Argentina vs Germany. Germany 4 Argentina 0 jaja putos lol

Semi Finals: The Netherlands qualified for the final for the third time with a 3–2 win over Uruguay. Spain reached its first ever final with a 1–0 victory over Germany.
Regardless of the result of the final, this was the first time ever that two different teams from the same continent have won successive World Cups (Italy won the 2006 tournament). It was also the first time that a European team has won a tournament held outside Europe.

The Final: Spain defeated the Netherlands 1–0, after an extra time goal by Andrés Iniesta. The win gave Spain their first World Cup title
The match was affected by a large number of fouls, particularly from the Netherlands. 13 yellow cards were given, and John Heitinga of the Netherlands was sent off. The Netherlands had chances to score, most notably in the 60th minute when Arjen Robben was released by Wesle
