Will the 2010 World Cup in South Africa yield any new surprises?
msianmania asked:
Do you think the next world cup in 2010 held in South Africa be a showcase for African nations making their mark? Do you think it will be a time when those ” dark horses” will prevail and knock out a few of those high ranking teams like Brazil,Germany and Italy ? Are we in for some real shock defeats? Or do you think it’s gonna be pretty open?.
Of course the Africans have home advantage..but maybe it might end like what happened to Germany…almost getting there…but just getting defeated as their “goal” is in sight.
I know this maybe kinda sidetracking, but I recently met up with one south african guy in a hotel..and he thought that the south african government and sports ministry could never make it as successful as Germany has. Thats his personal opinion.

No, it will still be as boring as ever, ending with a 0-0 or 1-1 tie and having to be concluded with penalty kicks.
What a stupid sport …
Just an idea, make the goals bigger and install a perimeter wall …

I think those so called “dark horses” will prevail farther in the 2010 Fifa World Cup since we are going to be playing on their land, and in their climate.
It all depends on the teams edurance and of course how they play

i think some african teams will definitely surprise people…kind of like ghana did during this world cup. i also think that the teams that are strong every year will remain strong…but that doesnt mean they will win…keep in mind everyone was rooting for brasil and they lost!
i think argentina will have a really good chance of winning the whole thing!

There’s always a dark horse or two every World Cup, so yes, there will definitely be a few surprises in 2010, but whether they can knock out the favourites we’ll have to wait and see.

Possibly one of the biggest surprises for everyone would be if FIFA decides that South Africa is no longer a viable option because South Africa will not complete the stadiums, provide security and the transport is a nightmare.
There are already campaigns, oddly enough from South Africans, asking FIFA to not allow the world cup to be hosted in South Africa.
FIFA have plans already:
But who knows hey, the game isn’t over till the final whistle blows.

Yeah. It will be sent to another Country at the last minute because the SA Government and all the criminals it supports will have trousered the money FIFA lent them for the event. The daily murder and **** rate may increase because of the new found opportunities for criminals.
