Your going to have two South American Countries. I doubt any of the Northern Hemisphere nations (all of Europe included of course) will adjust to the climate well enough to make runs to the finals.

Brasil v. Argentina would be my guess.

If your Q was ‘finals’, as opposed to ‘final’ I would like England v Argentina.

But if it is ‘finals’, I would like: Scotland, England, Northern Ireland,Spain, Brazil, Argentina, Czech Republic, South Korea, USA, Holland, Portugal, Nigeria, and a few other ‘no-hopers’ just to keep them on their toes by ‘freak results’!
Scotland v England (2-1) – there is no law, as far as I know, against dreaming!

I think the teams that could make it to the final are Spain and call me crazy…England. Spain, which won Euro 2008, were in my opinion indeed the best team in that competition and by the looks of it will not have their squad changed much from it. Look at the respective club competitions that their stars have participated in and they constantly continues to make headlines and be good consistent players. Xavi show, day in and day out that he may very well be the best midfielder in Spain, if not the world (one of the main contenders for that title is from England). Iniesta, is just as consistent playing on the right and sees everything on the field, and if Puyol can still be involved he’s the physical, instictive leader that every great team needs in the center of thier back line. (Wow, Barcelona is lucky) Casillas isn’t as bad as his Real teammates have made him look at times. And Sergio Ramos continues to be one of the bright spots along their back line. Villa, Silva, Torres (when healthy), are all still playing very well for their clubs and even those who watched more than played at Euro 2008 (Xabi Alonso), have become much more influential and sought after players. It’s much easier said than done but if they can maitntain the form their in now at the club level all the way to the tournament(Again, much, much, much easier said than done), they can definitely take the top spot at the World Cup. Okay, as for England, aka the underachievers of national team play, I really think Fabio Capello has figured out the right combination of tactics and players. If David James isnt the obvious choice, it’ll only be if the upcoming Ben Foster impressing with the first team play he’ll be getting at Old Trafford. The back line is solid and has the leadership of Ferdinand and Terry, and Johnson seems like he may be a real solution on the right. Moving Gerrard slightly out to the left has proven to be a genius decision, as it has allowed him to finally involve himself in the attck ratrher just facilitate the ball around the midfield. He can now do for his country what he does so well for Liverpool. Beckham is regaining his form, if not improving and is incredibly important(seriously, he is) as his service is second to none, and he will no longer be still as the main threat if Aaron Lennon can maintain his form(easier said than done), and if Michael Carrick is involved, who can form a great partnership with Lampard in the center. Wayne Rooney is developing into an unbelievable all around player, showing for both club and country he can play on either wing or partner up top. He isn’t scoring a lot of goals but everyone knows he can, besides he creating them for others too. Really the only thing is that another consistent attacking option must step up. (Say it with me, easier said than done.)

I WANT to see the United States and France playing with the US winning.

    1. It would give us a legitimate reason to beat up on France.
    2. We could show the world that for the most part, the US doesn’t care about soccer because we don’t find it interesting, not because we **** at it.
