How do Nasri and Benzema not make France world Cup squad?
UCLAsoccer11 asked:
Henry made it ?! I mean Dominique says he wants to see players play regularly for their club which Benzema doesn’t, but Henry is a benchwarmer and he brought him in. Viera also got snubbed.

Do benzema and Nasri still have a chance to make it and do you think they will?
Who else got snubbed today ? Personally I think Pato should’ve made Dunga’s squad but Nasri and Benzema were the biggest.
what did henry achieve ?

Benzema and Nasri were not picked because they didn’t deserve to go (look at what they achieved in 2009/2010). As simple as that.
Roberto Carlos , Adriano , Ronaldo , Ronaldinho were the biggest casualties.

same reason why
Moussa Sissoko _ Mexes _ Flamini_ Trezeguet _ Frey_Jeremy Menez (Roma) are not in the Team.
He is an arrogant **** who seems to fall out with many a player. then leaves them out the squad.

How many times does this need to be addressed? They suck, plain and simple. And they’re too young and inexperienced for a team of France’s caliber. They have much better options right now, just because Benzema and Nasri get more attention doesn’t make them better. Maybe they don’t fit into the squad/formation/style Domenech has in mind.
A much much bigger omission is Zanetti for Argentina.

As a Les Bleus fan, Nasri and Benzema were rightfully omitted.
As long as senior players such as Thierry Henry and William Gallas are the squad, both Nasri and Benzema are nothing but trouble.
Nasri and Benzema were the reason why France failed at Euro 2008. Now I don’t know what goes on in the dressing room, but word has it that the French squad at Euro 2008 was not united because Nasri and Benzema did not respect the senior players. The squad was therefore divided between those who supported the “golden generation” players such as Thierry Henry and William Gallas and those who supported the arrogant young guns like Nasri and Benzema.
Ultimately, the France team failed miserably. The poor performance was not due to poor technical ability – it was due to poor teamwork from what was a divided team. At the Euro 2008 matches, I often saw glares between Henry and Benzema. The team moral was unhealthy.
William Gallas wrote in his autobiography that he couldn’t stand playing with Samir Nasri at Euro 2008. Although they are now team-mates at Arsenal, I don’t think Domenech wanted to risk the France team to be split like it was at Euro 2008. For Domenech, it was either the likes of Henry/Gallas vs. Nasri/Benzema. Domenech decided to go for the former, and I agree with him.
That being said, Benzema has been a dismal failure with Real Madrid and his off-field controversies with an underaged girl, on top of his inability to settle in with the France squad, may have been the last straw in his omission.
France have had a history of snubbing their star players if they don’t respect their team-mates. I remember vividly prior to the 1998 World Cup, Eric Cantona, France’s controversial yet star playmaker was omitted by manager Aime Jacquet from the squad. Cantona was France’s best player at the time. Angry French fans called for Aime Jacquet’s resignation. However, Cantona’s absence enabled a certain young and unproven Zinedine Zidane to blossom… and we all know what happened from there on.
In Benzema and Nasri’s absence there are 5 uncapped French players in the provisional squad. History shows that in a star players’ absence, a true unselfish talent will thrive. At the 2006 World Cup, Ludovic Giuly was omitted which raised eyebrows. He had just won the UEFA Champions League with Barcelona that season. Instead, a virtually unknown Franck Ribery with just 1 cap to his name was thrown into France’s starting XI. After the 2006 World Cup, Ribery was turned from an unknown winger to global star. I believe one of those 5 uncapped French players has the chance to leave the 2010 World Cup as a genuine star.
Benzema and Nasri have a chance to play for France in the future, but not at the 2010 World Cup.
Patrick Vieira was regrettably snubbed because he is simply not good enough. He is fourth in the pecking order behind Jeremy Toulalan, Lassana Diarra and Alou Diarra. There is simply not enough room to have 4 defensive midfielders in the World Cup squad.

omg im so pissed…. Diego Ribas didnt get on the brazil side when melo made it….
dunga isnt a good coach….
lol anyways i cant see why benzema didnt make it, i think its also for the reasons with the underage girls and not playing regularly… benzema could be facing jail time soon, ruibery is in the same boat but is too important for france not to go.
also nasri should be in the squad based on diaby is in.. i mean as an arsenal fan i think nasri is better than diaby (even though nasri is probably my worst favorite arsenal player)
i also think carlton cole shouldve been on the 30 man for england but he didnt make it.
cheers, and henry is the captain for the national team… of course he’ll be on it….
one love
